Opening hours over the festive period
All libraries within Wrexham County will close at noon on Thursday, December 24, and will re-open for Order and Collect on Monday, January 4. Please make sure you have enough books to read to cover this period. All online services such as downloading free eBooks and eAudiobooks plus access to Ancestry.com, Theory Test Pro and much more will remain open for you to access 24/7 during the festive week. www.wrexham.gov.uk/liraries
Author of the month
Andrew Wilson is an award-winning author and journalist. His first book Beautiful Shadow: A Life of Patricia Highsmith, was shortlisted for the Whitbread biography prize (2003) and won an Edgar Allan Poe award for biography in 2004 and a LAMBDA Literary Award in 2003.
He was born in Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, in 1967 and read English Literature at King's College, London, graduating in 1988. He studied for the post-graduate diploma in periodical journalism at City University, London.
His journalism has appeared in a wide range of newspapers and magazines including the Sunday Times, Observer, Daily Mail, Evening Standard, Independent, Tatler, The Smithsonian and the Washington Post. Andrew is the new tutor on Faber Academy's online crime writing course and he is also a mentor on the Gold Dust creative writing scheme.
