A FLINTSHIRE youngster has completed his first charity challenge to help disadvantaged children this Christmas.

Little Paddy Borrows, two, wanted to help others this year after his family stumbled across North Wales Superkids.

They realised there will be children in their own community who are going to need their help and support this year.

Paddy’s proud mum, Melissa, said: “We walked five miles in five days - most of the time Paddy leading the way!

“He’s such a loving little boy and as a parent I want him to know that not everyone is as lucky as us. That giving back, helping and kindness are so important - not just at Christmas but always.”

The little man walked as part of the family’s daily exercise around local areas including Hawarden Castle, Flint Castle, Loggerheads and along Prestatyn beach with his Nanna and Taid.

His mum added: “We were well supported on our walks by the people of Buckley. Kevin Smith and aunty Emma Nield promoted our walks on social media.

"We were amazed that local people helped us reach a huge total of £655.”

The money was split between Children in Need and Superkids.

Using his funds, Paddy picked up some toys and treats to help the charity’s elves continue packing gifts to go out across North Wales after asking what they needed.

The Buckley family added that they would like to continue supporting North Wales Superkids with their future collections and are going to do as much as they can to help adding that charity founder Margaret Williams is a “real-life inspiration and local hero”.
