A DEDICATED Wrexham fan says a donation from one of the new co-owners of his team will make an unimaginable difference to his life.

Aiden Stott, 37, has just moved from Wrexham to Manchester to be closer to his family.

It is the first time that Aiden, who has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair, has had a place of his own.

To make the move easier, he had started a fundraising campaign to buy a specially-adapted bath for his new pad to help him live more independently and make things easier for his carers.

Just a day after starting the campaign, which has the joking title "I need a bath!" a donation for the target amount of £6,000 was made in the name of Rob McElhenney who, along with Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds, was confirmed as the new owners of Wrexham AFC on Monday.

Sister Cheryl joked she had to scrape Aiden off the ceiling when he heard the news.

Aiden, 37, told the Leader: "I am absolutely amazed, I just can't believe it.

"I initially thought that friends would share it and support me, but I never thought that someone famous would donate. It's brilliant and I'm just in shock."

Cheryl explained that Aiden has moved to be closer to his family.

She said: "He's moved to be closer to me, travelling between Wrexham and Manchester was getting too much. It's a big move for Aiden but it is going to enhance his quality of life being closer to his family"

Aiden added: "This is the first time on my own. It's such a big move for me, and getting this news is just seriously insane."

Although living in Manchester, Aiden says he will continue to support his hometown team as he has "for as long as I can remember".

He is a season ticket holder and attends home games every other week and also manages to go to some away games.

Aiden, founder of the Wrexham AFC Disabled Supporters Association, says it is an exciting time to be a Wrexham fan and he has high hopes for the future.

He added: "It's fantastic. I'm really looking forward to what will happen with Wrexham now. I hope they can help get us promoted and back in the league where we belong."

Thanking Rob again for the donation, Aiden added that it was a clear sign that the new owners were committed to not only elevating the club but also supporting the town and its people.
