BBC HAS ROBBED ME OF MY ONLY PLEASURE

May I express my disgust at the BBC for ending 'On The Red Button', the National Lottery results.

I am 77-years-old, and the only pleasure I have left in this world is to have a dabble on the Thunderball draw, Tuesday £1, Wednesday £1, Friday £1, Saturday £1, £4 total.

I used to look forward to getting the results every week but thanks to the greedy BBC, it is no longer available.

I know perhaps they need to cut costs but surely printing the Lotto numbers can't cost that much.

One programme they should axe is Top Gear.

Back in the 60s, Raymond Baxter and his team did a fine job showing what value the cars they tested were.

Nowadays they send three idiots all round the world, doing nothing of any great importance, except racing one another and smashing vehicles up.

As well as staying in the best hotels, which must cost millions.

On top of that, I now have to pay for a TV licence, which was once free. Shame on you BBC!

And before someone suggests I go online, I'll scream. I can't afford to buy a computer of pay £30 odd to get a signal per month.

I'm just like millions of other pensioners who can just about afford to live.

Come on BBC, why can't the news readers after the 10pm news? They used to do it before.

And while I've got pen to paper, why can't the weathermen tell us in inches about rainfall, as millimetres means nothing to me? E. Shaples, Wrexham
