A SEARCH for a youth believed to be missing at sea ended when he was found to be safe.
Beaumaris and Conwy lifeboat, the Mobile Coastguard Rescue Teams from Llandudno and Bangor, the National Coast Watch Institution, the Coastguard helicopter and North Wales Police searched for the youth believed to be missing near Penmaenmawr last Saturday, October 17.
The Conwy lifeboat searched from Penmaenbach tunnels towards Penmaenmawr while the Beaumaris lifeboat searched from Penmaenmawr towards Llanfairfechan.
The two coastguard teams conducted a land based search in the same area. The Coastguard escue helicopter also joined in the search.
A spokesman for Beaumaris lifeboat said: “Fortunately, contact was eventually made by mobile phone with the missing youth, who confirmed he was well and had never been in the water and the Llandudno Mobile Coastguard Rescue Team went to meet him.”
