VOLUNTEERS are needed to help install a new community wild garden in Flintshire later this week.

The New Brighton Community Centre will see the wild garden being installed on Friday, 23 October at 10am, after securing a grant from Keep Wales Tidy.

A spokesperson for the New Brighton Community Centre, said: "It’s exciting times and we are trying to get as many people in the community to come and help and get involved.

"We have also just had a separate grant from the National Lottery of £9,000, so lots of exciting events and things will be going on at the centre soon, when Covid will allow.

"But we are trying to do our best at the moment to keep people involved ensuring safe distance so this is a lovely project outside for the local people."

The centre also has a new community bar, which is open every Friday between 6.30pm and 9.30pm, with social distance measurements in place.

They are also considering arranging a Christmas light up event in order to help residents get into the festive spirit.
