Deeside Round Table announce charity drive-in cinema coming to Flintshire

On November 6 and 7, the team will be playing four films allowing people to get cosy and have a cinematic experience form the comfort of their cars.

A group spokesman said: “As ever with a Deeside Round Table charity event, 100 per cent of the profits will get pumped back into worthy causes in the Deeside area.

“Last year, our bonfire and fireworks night helped to pay for the very successful community food care packs that we bought and delivered in their thousands for months on end during the national lockdown and beyond.

“The profits from this event will therefore also be used to support the many vulnerable and at-risk groups in our local area in the near future.

“With more people, clubs and organisations than ever before requiring help at the moment, we hope that this event will be a blockbuster.”

Held on Cottage Lane at Greenacres Farm, and utilising in-car audio technology, fans can choose from the following films.

On Friday, there will be a screening of Frozen followed by Bohemian Rhapsody. On Saturday the Disney sequel Frozen II will be played followed by Rocketman.

On the night you'll be given a food and drink menu of what's on offer, which will include classic cinema treats. You will then be able to order from your phone and have it delivered to your car when you can make a contactless payment.

The spokesman adds: “Importantly, the screenings are all COVID compliant and are only open to Flintshire residents.

“At a time when the pandemic has seen both our charity bonfire night cancelled for a year and seen the closure of other local cinemas, I’m sure you’ll agree this is very welcome news that will hopefully provide a boost at a time of increasing negative news.”

Tickets to the unique cinema experience are purchased per vehicle rather than per person and help raise lots of money for charity.
