MEMBERS of the neighbourhood policing team for Caia Park have successfully placed a closure order on another property on the estate.
This means that only named persons can be present in the property, protecting neighbours and the occupant.
Closure orders are becoming an increasingly used tool in Wrexham town, not just in Caia Park.
More than 15 have been successfully applied for this year.
Sgt Matt Subacchi explained: "Essentially Closure Orders are something we can use if we identify vulnerability in someone living in a property or criminal behaviour happening there. We can put initially a 24-hour Closure Order on that property. The next step is a 48-hour closure, but if we can't fix it in those two periods we can apply to the court for a three month closure.
"While the property is closed, it means only the tenant, and those that we allow, for example if the tenant tells us that their mum visits them or someone comes who supports them, can go into that address during that period. Anyone else who goes there will be arrested. Not necessarily always arrested, but they can be.
