SEVERAL new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Wrexham and Flintshire, according to the latest public health data.

Figures released by Public Health Wales reveal that as of September 28, there were 12 new confirmed cases in Flintshire, and five confirmed in Wrexham.

These figures take the total confirmed cases in Wrexham to 1,523, with Flintshire standing at 945.

Regionally, the latest figures show there were a total of 36 new cases confirmed across North Wales covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, taking the overall total up to 5,452.

Conwy saw the highest number of new confirmed cases as nine were reported, with two in Anglesey, six in Denbighshire, and two in Gwynedd.

There have been no new suspected COVID-related deaths across Wales.

To date, the total number of people in Wales who have died after testing positive for coronavirus still stands at 1,612.

So far, 513,635 people have undergone coronavirus tests in Wales.
