The force announced officers were dealing with an incident in the store and urged the public to avoid the area.
About 20 minutes later a spokesman confirmed officers working with the Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit were examining a suspicious package which was found in the B&Q store.
It was confirmed that there was no danger to public, following which all roads were reopened.
