A LOCAL high school's student has tested positive for coronavirus, it has been confirmed.
Castell Alun High School in Hope confirmed the news via social media that one of its Year 7 students has tested positive for the virus.
The school remains open following the positive coronavirus test.
It becomes the sixth school in Flintshire this week to register a positive coronavirus cases, but the first high school to do so.
Castell Alun headteacher Paul Edwards said: "We have now had a confirmed positive COVID-19 result for a student in Year 7 and are following the Flintshire protocol for such an occurrence.
"The school remains and you (parents) will soon receive an emailed letter from us on behalf of Public Health Wales, which should bring further clarity to your personal circumstances.
"We all wish the student concerned a speedy recovery."
