THE ambulance service is urging people to use 999 only in an emergency as they are experiencing an exceptionally busy day.
Welsh Ambulance Service made the appeal on social media today (Wednesday).
The service tweeted: "We are exceptionally busy today, so please keep 999 free for those who desperately need us. If you call us and it's not a life-threatening emergency, you will wait longer for an ambulance."
They advice anyone feeling unwell to visit the @NHS111Wales Symptom Checker at https://111.wales.nhs.uk/SelfAssessments/
