THE mayor of Abergele has called for a town to show 'community spirit' ahead of the arrival of film crews for I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!
Abergele is making early preparations ahead of welcoming production staff.
Bunting is being made and mayor of Abergele, Shirley Jones-Roberts, is running a 'I'm A Celebrity' window competition.
Ms Jones-Roberts said: "With the imminent filming of I'm a Celebrity at Gwrych Castle and hopefully many visitors coming to our town, it is the ideal time to showcase the community spirit we have here.
"Bunting is already being made by several. I'm asking that all shops, businesses and offices join in and take part in my competition to give everyone visiting a typically warm, Welsh welcome.
"If our school children could do something along the same theme and display around the town."
There are two prizes on offer.
In addition, posters are being made.
Ms Jones-Roberts added: "The town could look wonderful and would give a lovely impression if by chance the film crew found their way into town.
"After the last few dismal months, it is an opportunity to at last have something cheerful to celebrate."
Gwrych Castle is undergoing a huge restoration project.
The chance to host the hit show means works, in particularly emergency works which the Gwrych Castle Preservation Trust has been carrying out since it purchased the site in 2018, can be accelerated.
