A FISH and chip shop gutted by a fire will remain closed for the foreseeable future.

Harbour View, on Glan-y-Mor Road in Deganwy, was forced to close following a fire; three fire crews attended the incident on August 19.

Posting their disappointment on Facebook, bosses said: "To all our customers, we are very sad to say that we will be closed until further notice.

"You may have seen our devastating news that there has been a fire and it has caused much damage.

"We will get through this and will be coming back bigger and better.

"Thank you for all your support and we apologise for any inconvenience.

"Can't wait to see you all again in the future."

A spokesperson from the shop stressed the shop will re-open at a later date.

The cause of the fire was accidental.

A spokesperson from North Wales Fire and Rescue service said: "The fish and chip shop area was badly damaged.

"There was smoke damage to the ground floor restaurant area and to the upstairs residential flat which was empty at the time."

The spokesperson from the shop added: "Luckily there was no damage to the flat apart from smoke smell, but no fire."
