A CHARITY shop in Deeside will not be reopening as it is no long 'financially viable'.

Lauren Tilston, Head of Income Generation, confirmed that the Nightingales shop in Shotton will not be reopening its doors following the coronavirus pandemic.

She said: “We are aware that these are particularly difficult times for all retailers, and we are not immune to changes in market conditions.

“Having carried out a review of our retail operations we have taken the decision not to re-open our Nightingales Shop in Shotton as it would no longer be financially viable to do so.

“We are very grateful to our hard-working team in Shotton who have shown great support and dedication raising much needed income for the hospice.

“We would also like to thank the community across Shotton and Deeside for their support. We hope that they will continue to support the hospice by shopping in, and donating to, our remaining shops. The nearest of which is in Buckley and then Mold. You can also support the work of the hospice by taking part in our fundraising events or playing our weekly hospice Lottery.”
