A FLINTSHIRE woman was conned out of £1,500 after being convinced work was needed on her home.
North Wales Police's Community Safety East team said the lady, who lives on Wellington Close in Hawarden, was "conned" into believing that the work was needed.
Despite paying £1,500 for it, police say the work is "substandard and unfinished".
A spokesperson said: "Need work doing? Go via personal recommendation or the council's Trust a Trader scheme".
