A WREXHAM mum spoke of her delight after being told she wouldn't have to worry about her household bills for the next few months.

The Leader launched a competition offering one lucky reader the chance to win three months worth of their bills being paid.

It has now been confirmed that Kathleen Davies, of Brymbo, is the winner.

Mrs Davies, who has two children and five grandchildren, said she thought it was a joke when her husband Michael told her the news.

The 60-year-old post office worker said: "It was a lovely surprise - I do quite a few competitions and I had forgotten all about it.

"It's definitely going to be a big help to pay some bills.

"I wasn't going to do it at first, but my husband said why not give it a try?"

Speaking of how she has been getting on throughout the coronavirus pandemic, she continued: "I have carried on working at the post office, so it hasn't been too different. "It's been strange, but ok and we have had to learn to do things a bit differently.

"Work has been really busy. People seen to have been sending a lot of things via eBay.

"We have to wear gloves, masks and use sanitizer. "Customers have been very good and we have had no complaints at all."

Susan Perry, Group Editor said: “Congratulations to Kathleen Davies who has won her household bills being paid courtesy of the Leader.

“We had a fantastic response to our competition and thank everyone who entered.

“I am sure having her utility bills paid during this current economic climate will make a huge a difference.”
