The Denbigh and Flint Show has been a highlight on the summer calendar for many across North Wales for generations.

It's one of the biggest social and entertainment events in the region, with the planning months in advance.

There's endless things to see, experience, taste and enjoy. It's a fabulously full day out.

Sadly this year, along with so many others, the regular fixture has had to be cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, having only been prevented in the past by disease or wartime.

But hosts Denbighshire & Flintshire Agricultural Society have pledged on their website to "get through these tough times and come back stronger in 2021".

As we keep our fingers crossed for that being the case, the Leader takes a look back at some of the moments and faces from shows gone by with a gallery from our archives.

Were you there? If you have photos from your time at the show, as a visitor or competitor, you can share them with us here or email claire.pierce@newsquest.co.uk

Here's hoping for a return of this fantastic celebration next year.
