WREXHAM residents are being encouraged to take advantage of the new 'click and collect' service.

Wrexham Council is offering 30 minutes of free parking on High Street to allow shoppers to pick up any items they have pre-ordered from traders.

A spokesperson for Wrexham Council, said: "It will allow you support our local traders and to pick up your items at your convenience.

"There’s four bays outside the Butcher’s Market on High Street and details of traders in there who have provided us with their contact details, Rob Clark of Mad4Movies (telephone 07791 990119 or email rob77mad4movies@gmail.com), Gabriella Slater of Doorstep Barber (telephone 07746 549061 or email gabriellaslater104@gmail.com), Paul Bowring of G C Hughes Butchers (telephone 01978 266479) and Madi of Petsave (telephone 07395 527292 or email dadams1@live.co.uk).

Those wishing to stay longer are reminded that there is also free parking in all council operated car parking in the town centre, which include Crescent Road, Guildhall, Wrexham Library, Market Street and Tŷ Pawb.

Cllr Terry Evans, lead member for economic development, added: "We’re doing all we can to support traders through the coming weeks and months as we continue to safely open up the town centre.

"Visitors can be assured that their safety and the safety of our traders is of paramount importance.

"Please do all you can support our independent traders during this very difficult time and take advantage of the new click and collect parking bays."
