CRICKET sides across the region will finally get their respective seasons underway next weekend.
The England and Wales Cricket Board confirmed that fixtures can resume from Saturday, July 25, which will see teams competing in North Wales put in specific area leagues to prevent long travel due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Llandudno will formally return to competitive action next Saturday when they welcome Bethesda to The Oval, before making the short trip to North Wales Cricket League Division One champions Conwy on August 1.
A highly anticipated clash at Mochdre will take place on August 8, before Jack Rimmington’s men close out the month with fixtures against Pwllheli, St Asaph, Premier Division title holders Bangor and Menai Bridge.
The Lions kick off their September schedule with a trip to Bethesda, before closing out the campaign with two home games against Conwy and Pwllheli.
Mochdre also get their season underway on Saturday with a visit to Pwllheli, and their first home encounter of the campaign will see Matty Humphreys’ men welcome Bangor on August 1.
Last season’s Premier Division surprise package will also take on Llandudno, Conwy, Menai Bridge and Bethesda throughout the month, in addition to a clash against St Asaph on August 31.
September gets underway for Mochdre with a home game against Pwllheli, and they conclude their fixtures against Bangor and Conwy.
Newly promoted Conwy will be looking to make an impression in their season opener at Menai Bridge on Saturday, before their first home contest comes the following weekend against Llandudno.
Bethesda, Mochdre, Bangor, St Asaph and Pwllheli are also on the August calendar, and Conwy end the season with fixtures against Menai Bridge and the Lions.
Llanrwst and Colwyn Bay will be tasked with coming up with friendly fixtures against other sides from across the region this summer, with the latter unable to make the necessary travel in the Liverpool and District Competition.
