A HEARTBROKEN family has thanked the community for their support in the search for their missing puppy.

Ten-month-old Buddy went missing on July 9 around 6.30pm in Mold but has not been seen since.

The devastated family put out an appeal on social media, but where not expecting the response when dozens of people turned up to take part in a search and rescue.

Louise Ward said: “Buddy is my son’s dog and he is a white Jack Russell with mink coloured ears and a patch on his tail.

The Leader:

“He’s a really nervy little puppy but does respond to his name. We are really lucky, we had loads of people rally and had an amazing response, especially during a pandemic.

“Print Centre Wales printed flyers for free and hundreds of people have shared our post on social media, so it’s touched the hearts of everyone.

“Search and Rescue has been involved, they’ve had the drone out, infrared cameras and also a drone to search down rabbit holes and rivers and still nothing. We need to keep the publicity going so people are aware of this.

The Leader:

“We are absolutely devastated, he is such a gorgeous little pup, we are in bits over it, but we are not giving up.”

Buddy went missing by the back of the Queens Head Pub in Mold, heading towards the Rugby Club.

On July 14, dozens of people turned up at the pub to take part in a large, socially distanced search.

Carolyn Davies-Moore said this story has touched her heart and she is doing all she can to help out.

The Leader:

She told the Leader: “Because of the way we are with dogs, myself and my husband saw the post for the missing dog and instantly went to walk around to see if we could see him, but there was nothing.

“I started to share the plea and went for a run in that direction every morning but there’s been absolutely no sightings at all.

“We are fearful now that he’s been taken because he’s completely vanished and that area is a busy patch for walkers and he is chipped.

“If that’s the case we need to make him too hot to handle and keep the pressure on, keep people looking.

“Mold is a fantastic community so we thought why not organise a social distanced event where we can all split up and look for Buddy, adhering to the social distancing rules.”

Anyone who spots Buddy can call 07930 67560 and the family said a reward will be given on Buddy's return.
