RESIDENTS are being urged to be vigilant due to an ongoing text scam.
Flintshire Trading Standards has said the Paypal scam is being texted to victims.
A Trading Standards spokesman said "The text states: 'Paypal: Your Paypal account is at risk. Use the link to verify your billing information before services suspend.'
"It then gives a website link address. The website link address will vary depending on who the scammers are.
"Paypal will not contact you in this way. Any communication you receive from Paypal will be addressed to you by name.
"If you receive a text such as this do not click on the web address link, this is a phishing scam that is designed to get financial or personal information from you.
"If you want to ensure everything is alright with your Paypal account login in your usual way to check the details."
