STAFF and children at a nursery have been coming up with ideas to support Chester Zoo.

ABC Nursery, in Cefn-y-bedd, held a raffle that raised £510 for the zoo while the children have been learning all about the animals.

Rachel Povey, manager , said: "The zoo plays a huge part in our children's lives as a lot of our children and parents have yearly passes and make regular visits to the zoo all year round.

"The children love coming into nursery and telling us about what animals they have seen when they have visited there.

"The children are currently learning all about the zoo as their topic and are enjoying learning more about the rage of animals that live there and watching the live stream from Chester."

Rachel said that the support that they have had in pulling together a raffle from local business has been overwhelming.

She added: "We had a wide variety of great prizes for our raffle, which include days out vouchers, beer hampers, dinner for two, toy hampers and many more.

"Our parents, friends and family have played a huge part in buying the raffle tickets for this great cause and have welcomed the idea to help the zoo as it is something close to their hearts."

Sarah Love, owner of ABC Nursery, said her staff have worked hard to pull the raffle together and the response received from parents has been amazing.
