MINERA and its surrounding villages are celebrating the launch of a new service for the area.
Councillor John Edwards, the Chair of Minera Community Council, said: “I would like to congratulate and welcome Susanne Allcroft as our Community Agent. Her role will be to contact residents of the five villages of the Minera Ward, including New Brighton, Wern, Five Crosses, Gwynfryn and Minera who are isolated or vulnerable and could possibly need help or advice.
“She will be able to signpost them to where assistance is available and help complete complex applications where necessary. Most importantly, she will be there with a sympathetic ear to listen to concerns and help eliminate them.
“Also, essentially, everything will be dealt with in the strictest confidence and will be completely private.”
Susanne said: “I am delighted to be working in Minera and the surrounding villages, where I am looking forward to making a difference to the lives of our most isolated and vulnerable neighbours.”
The service is funded by Wrexham County Borough Council and the Agent is managed by Minera Community Council, using its on-the-ground local knowledge to ensure that those most in need can be supported.
Details about how any resident of the Minera Ward can contact Susanne will be available on all of the Notice Boards in the five communities, as well as on the Council’s website - www.mineracommunitycouncil.co.uk.
Susanne can also be contacted by phone on 07988 025604 or through Facebook Messenger on the Minera Community Agent Facebook page where there will be additional information about help and assistance for the community.
