WREXHAM MP Sarah Atherton has called for the abolition of visa application fees for Commonwealth military personnel that have served in the British Armed Forces.

This would make it easier to apply for indefinite leave to remain in he UK following discharge.

The Wrexham MP, who served in the Army Intelligence Corps, has called for ‘greater support’ for those who have served in our Armed Forces.

She said: “Soldiers who have served our country should be supported upon discharge and within certain criteria, afforded leave to remain.

“We must do all that we can to support the brave men and women who have sacrificed so much to serve our country, that means making it easier for them and their families to settle in the UK following their loyal service.”
