A ROCKY reptile continues to grow around Connah's Quay as dozens of families take part.

Six-year-old Jacob Smith and his sister Evelyn made a rock snake my painting pebbles, starting with the face painted on one stone.

A few more were added for its body and a sign was put up asking people to add to it to see how long it could grow.

Since the initial request, the snake has had over 200 rocks added to its body.

Mum Janine Smith said: "It's looking amazing and so many people are having pictures taken by it. Happiness is being spread.

"None of us were expecting it to reach 50 rocks let along 100 and more. It’s been phenomenal. People are saying thank you to us.

"People are messaging to say they’ve added and will be adding more. From the very young 18-months to the much older (70+) have painted and added.

"It’s brilliant and the smiles on the children when they find the snake, it’s just been great.

"Someone’s asked to see if there is a way to cement it somewhere on the future, another has suggested hashtags and posts to encourage people to keep adding. It’s inspired and captured everyone’s imagination, we are loving it."

The snake still does not have a name but Janine is hoping to involve the community in an online vote.

The snake is placed at the alleyway on Coppack Close and dozens of rocks have already been added to it.
