A spokesman for the store, based on Watkin Way, said: “After being closed for over 2 months, we’re super excited to announce that our Drive-Thru lane will reopen tomorrow, Thursday 28th of May.

“We will be open Monday to Saturday 7am-6pm and Sunday 9am-5pm (hours are subject to change). We will only be accepting contactless payments and we will be offering a limited food selection.

“Please note that we will only be accepting Costa Coffee Club Cards through the mobile app and we cannot accept reusable cups, however we will honour the 25p discount if you present it at the window.

“We can only serve customers who are in their cars, we cannot serve pedestrians or customers on bikes. Thank you for your patience and we can’t wait to see you soon!”

The news comes as Costa Coffee opens another 97 stores nationally.

In an open letter to customers, CEO of Costa Coffee Jill McDonald said: “All of us here at Costa Coffee hope you and your family and friends are well and looking forward to another long-weekend.

“Over the past four weeks, in line with Government guidelines, we are pleased to have successfully re-opened over 70 Costa Coffee stores.

“To keep our store teams and customers safe, we’ve made a lot of changes to how we serve our coffee, introducing social distancing and enhancing our hygiene procedures. Customers are telling us that they feel safe when visiting and are delighted that we are open.

“Our store teams have responded well to our new ways of working, which has given us confidence that we can re-open more stores.”
