A WREXHAM mum who lost eight stone has spoken of the impact it has had on her life.

Joleen Adamson, aged 37 and of Gresford, said many factors influenced her decisions to lose weight.

The chip shop sales assistant, who has a seven-year-old son named Theo, said she used to struggle to get clothes to fit and I was becoming "very aware and embarrassed" about her size 26/28.

In January 2019, when joining WeightWatchers (WW) she was 20 stone, 3lbs.

The Leader:

Describing her journey and how it came about, she said: "I was physically uncomfortable, my feet hurt, my legs rubbed together and I barely fitted in an airplane seat.

"The main trigger for my decision to lose the weight was getting on a waterslide at Alton towers with my son - not seeing the weight limit until it was too late to turn back.

"We got stuck and had to be helped off, my son was sobbing. I was left very embarrassed and heartbroken for my Theo.

"I had tried WW before I got pregnant with Theo and had managed to lose 3 stone. So after the water park incident I knew I just had to go back.

The Leader:

"I decided I was going to follow the plan to the letter, no cheating.

"I was going to be kind to myself and rewarded myself with things other than food like new clothes or some make up.

"I took my underwear pictures on January 1, 2019, and continued to do so every month.

"I could see my body shrinking and seeing the difference just spurred me on.

"I have set myself small goals all the way through my journey, the next stone bracket or an item of clothing I would like to get into.

"I’ve been an all inclusive holidays, I’ve eaten takeaways, I don’t deprive myself of anything.

"Nothing is off limits, it’s about everything in moderation.

"As I have lost weight my mindset has improved 100 per cent.

"I am a happier person with confidence. I can buy clothes off the rail in a size I only dreamed of before (12).

"I adore spending time outdoors with Theo now and since lockdown we have even taking up cycling together - My first real form of extra exercise since I was a child."
