WE asked Leader readers to get in touch and share a thank you message to the hundreds of key workers who are heading out to work and keeping Flintshire and Wrexham going in unprecedented times - despite the threat of the coronavirus pandemic.
Hundreds of people responded to our call, praising a key worker that they knew. From shop assistants keeping shelves filled with essentials and council workers maintaining services as best they can to the care workers and NHS staff helping to heal and keep people safe from Covid-19.
We continue to shine the spotlight on our everyday heroes, the amazing key workers of our county…
LAUREN ADDISION AND SARAH LEE – CHILDCARE ASSISTANT AND DISTRICT NURSE FROM WREXHAM
Claire Addision said: “Lauren Addison is a childcare assistant at Marford Little Explorers Playgroup providing childcare for key workers and front line staff and working extremely hard.
“Sarah Lee is a district nurse based in Gresford and working extremely hard as a frontline worker and I want them both to know how proud of the both of them I am.”

Katie and Thomas Morris said: “Her children would like to say thank you for working so hard through the COVID-19 outbreak she is our hero!”
CHARLOTTE PERRY – CARE WORKER FROM WREXHAM
Chloe Perry said: “I want to say a massive thank you to my wonderful mother Charlotte. Not only she is working on the frontline as a care worker, she also is the best mother a daughter could dream of.
“She does the best for everybody. All of her hard work goes into her job, she is working on the frontline in the Gwastard Hall in Wrexham. I couldn’t thank my mother for all of her hard work, and everything she does. We love you mum!”

Tanya Walker said: “Rachel is hard working, dedicated and caring person - a dear friend. She's a colleague at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital specialising in the care sector as part of the NHS team. I would just like to say thank you to her and all the others who work round the clock saving lives.”

Courtney Williams said: “Thank you to my beautiful big sister Katie Williams, who spent two weeks living in her place of work away from her family to help look after elderly people.
“We are all of mega proud of you! She wears her heart on her sleeve and is always willing to help out where she can. We love you so much keep doing what you’re doing, you’re our hero.”

Andrea Valentine said: “I’ve never met someone so caring in so many ways. This women also cares for my nephew and the two boys wouldn’t want to be anywhere else through the lockdown.
“She has kept us all going and when we haven’t needed her due to being off she has took time out to bring the children gifts, crafts and activities to do - as well as having her own two children to keep safe and look after she’s always looking out for everyone else.”
RACHEL WILLIAMS – CARE WORKER FROM WREXHAM
Gemma Robbins said: “I want to say a massive shout out to my best friend Rachel Williams from Rhos. She works in the Meifod Care Home and has done for more than 10 years.
“She does an amazing job and works so hard in her job and as a Mum to Demi-Lee. I'm so proud of her in the way she is handling this tough time and trying to remain positive. Keep doing what you’re doing and stay safe - love you loads!”
ALYX HOPE – HEALTHCARE ASSISTANT FROM WREXHAM
Jackie Keefe said: “I would love to nominate my Niece Alyx Hope. She started work as a Healthcare Assistant in January at Wrexham Maelor Hospital - her dream job - and she and her colleagues have been on the front line helping people with COVID-19.
“Alyx herself was tested positive but after her isolation period was over she went straight back to work to help others. I couldn't be more proud of Alyx and I want to thank her and all her friends and colleagues in the NHS for helping to save lives.”

Emma Davies said: “Her dedication, care, hard work and commitment is just incredible. Working on the frontline during this pandemic and also a mummy to two beautiful boys. Keep doing what you’re doing!”
JULIEANNE TURNER – RETAIL SUERVISOR FROM FLINTSHIRE
Zoe Turner said: “My mum is a very selfless woman, she always puts so many others before herself. She is a Supervisor at Home Bargains in Buckley. I feel that she is a huge asset to their team.
“I applaud them all for going to work every day keeping their shop stocked to serve our needs, putting us before themselves. I know how hard they have all worked during this pandemic. We thank you all.
“My mum isn't just my mum, a lot of others have adopted her as their own as she goes about her days sharing her kindness, love and happiness. Going above and beyond her role to make sure everyone around her is OK. She is someone who always remains strong no matter what, I have never seen anything fear her, until the virus came along.
“She struggled like the rest of us to begin with, adapting to the changes when this pandemic began. But, as always, she put on her game face showing others how that staring her fears in the eyes and not allowing them to consume her is how to get through it.
“She not only inspired me, but her team and many others in her life. She truly doesn't appreciate how amazing she is and what others see in her. I feel she deserves a lovely message in our local paper to brighten her day like she brightens all of ours.”

Chloe Matthews said: “This is my amazing beautiful mother who I am super proud of. She works five days a week in the Spar in Queensferry, helping to provide for the community and making sure that everyone has their essential needs!
“She’s a very hard worker! Keep up what you’re doing - you’re doing everyone proud. I love and miss you loads keep safe!”
She added: “This is my amazing stepdad! He’s is a key worker who works five days a week helping the community to make sure that everyone’s electricity is running - if he wasn’t working we would be without electricity and light! He’s such a hard worker!

“She celebrated her 40th birthday last week but sadly due to COVID-19 we have had to move our celebratory holiday to Ibiza to next year. She works her socks off but is always the first to check on others and leaving care packages on my doorstep. I want everyone to know how fab she is.”
