TRAFFIC Wales have said there will be lane closures in place on the A494 to allow for safety repairs.

The repairs are needed following a crash in the late hours of Wednesday night when a lorry overturned on the A494 near Queensferry.

A spokesman for Traffic Wales said: “Following an RTC earlier this week there will be lane closures in place on the A494 Queensferry due to barrier safety repairs.”

The incident saw the road closed off for almost 18 hours as emergency services were on the scene.

The Leader reported that the driver of the lorry - who suffered minor injuries - had to be pulled from the burning vehicle by passersby, the fire service said.

The person has since been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after failing a roadside breathalyser test, North Wales Police has confirmed.
