BUDDING photographers in Llanfyllin have been creative during lockdown to take part in a 10 Day Photography Challenge.

The '10 Day Photography Challenge Take 2' was organised to run from the end of April to May 4 by Arts Connection, Llanfyllin.

Each of the 10 days presented a fun theme and all entries were judged by local photographer Cordelia Weedon and prizes were awarded to adults and also under 16's.

The Under 16 prize winners were

  • Adam Jones. NHS Flag and Dancing Up Stairs.
  • Mabon McCluskey. Dancing On Computer.
  • Emma Bass. Forgotten Object.

Louise Bass, Emma's mum and photography teacher at Llanfyllin High School said: "Emma had great fun shooting every day on her exercise walk or in the garden at home for 10 days on the different themes.

"It has helped extend her photographic understanding and editing skills, kept her occupied and happy! The photograph is a lost sock on a bench by Llanymynech canal side. I think she liked the low angle and perspective of the bench slats. Emma is 10 years old."

Head of Art, Michael Morgan thought that it was a great challenge to set for the community and each of the Under 16 students will be awarded an art materials prize from Llanfyllin Art Department.
