Three-thousand fresh meals will be delivered to vulnerable households across Flintshire today (Wednesday, May 13).
It's all thanks to the Well-Fed partnership between Flintshire County Council, Clwyd Alyn and Can Cook - the largest of its kind in the UK.
The 3,000 meals, of seven varieties including vegetarian options, were made yesterday to be delivered to the doorsteps of those in isolation or food poverty that need them.
Each week, Well-Fed is delivering meals, slow cooker bags and safety boxes to hundreds of vulnerable households in Flintshire free of charge - ensuring that residents in difficulty, those who are self- isolating and unable to get out, and residents of the county's night shelter will receive good, fresh food.
The Well-Fed service is best described as Meals on Wheels re-imagined with a mission is to “connect people through good food”.
Working very closely with council staff, the service provides a choice of good quality, additive free, fresh food using locally sourced, sustainable produce.
