WREXHAM residents are learning a little bit of history on their daily walks thanks to a local teacher on lockdown.

Caroline Olijnyk, of Ruabon, writes a new fact on a chalkboard every day for passers-by to enjoy.

The history teacher also posts them on her Facebook page 'history teacher in lockdown' for those unable to get out.

She told the Leader: "I'm a history teacher working from home which is a bit of a nightmare.

"I don't have kids so I'm alone all day and decided to make myself a new routine.

"I get up at 7am, go for a run and then do the board.

"I'm really passionate about my subject so I put it out on the front and the response has been fantastic.

"It's really touching, people have been taking pictures and I can hear people coming and asking what it says today. People are coming especially to see it.

"It's really nice so I'll carry on doing it each day, it's interesting and good to share."
