THE coaching industry came together to pay a very special tribute to NHS staff on the frontline fight against coronavirus.

The Leader previously reported that Rebecca and David Price, of Price Coaches in New Broughton, wanted firms to come together to pay their own respects.

Every Thursday at 8pm, people clap and shout for the NHS heroes and key workers.

Last Thursday, eight local firms at Wrexham Maelor hospital to pay their respects.

Rebecca said: “As a lot of you know I organised a fundraising event with the rest of Wrexham's coach operators.

“It was a huge success and a brilliant turn out. A massive thank you to all the public that clapped and cheered along with us at the hospital, showing our love and support for the wonderful staff at the hospital.”

Of the coach firms involved included Price Coaches, Lloyds Coaches, Straffords Coaches, Unicorn Travel, EJones of Rhosllanerchrugog Coaches, Acton Coaches, George Edwards and Son Coaches and Pats coaches that turned up on Thursday night.

The aim was for one member of each firm in the Wrexham area to take a coach to the hospital with hazards and beeping horns.

Rebecca added: “It was an emotional but brilliant turn out showing our appreciation, as well as God knows how many members of the public.

“I would like to thank everyone who has already donated. This money will be donated to the Wrexham Maelor Hospital. If you wish to donate it would be greatly appreciated.”

Funds will also be raised for the NHS as each local firm has agreed to donate £50.
