HUNDREDS of donated Easter Eggs have brought ‘happiness to a lot of people’/

The Leader previously reported that John Knowles Funeral Services in Broughton were collecting Easter Eggs for children’s wards, hospices and local women’s refuge.

The team were ‘blown away’ by the kindness and generosity of people in the wake of its appeal.

This week, the eggs were delivered to the Countess of Chester, Wrexham Maelor, Deeside Community Hospital, Bluebird Care, North Wales Police in Mold and Welsh Ambulance Service in Dobshill.

Lynn Jones, of John Knowles Funeral Services, said unfortunately they were not able to deliver to the women’s refuge and Hope House due to restrictions in place but they have been 'overwhelmed' by the response.

She added: “We were sad we were not able to take the eggs to Hope house and the woman’s refuge.

“All that had eggs off us today were so pleased. It bought happiness to a lot of people so we would like to thank all those who donated.”

As well as the many donations made by members of the public, Spar in Buckley had £200 worth of Easter Eggs.

And Home Sense in Broughton - which is sadly having to close its stores temporarily due to the coronavirus outbreak - had donated all its Easter eggs and Easter related goodies to the appeal, as well as having donated all its perishable food to local food banks.
