THE chief executive of the Countess of Chester Hospital has tested positive for coronavirus.
Dr Susan Gilby is currently isolating with her family at home but continuing to work remotely to "lead the hospital at this challenging time".
A spokesperson for the Countess of Chester Hospital said: “Chief Executive Dr Susan Gilby has tested positive for COVID-19.
"She is isolating with her family at home, but continues to work remotely with the Board and colleagues to lead the hospital at this challenging time.”
As of 5pm yesterday, the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust had recorded a total of 19 deaths from coronavirus.
