A SUPERHERO has been visiting the streets of Wrexham to raise funds for those on the frontline fight against coronavirus.

Spiderman has been waving to children around Ruabon, Cefn Mawr and Plas Madoc to spread some joy and is asking people to donate to the online fundraiser for the NHS North Wales charity.

Ian Hatton said: “I thought this was a fantastic idea and the kids would love it so I thought why not do it and go further and raise funds for a good cause.

“The donation is done over Facebook so no cash is involved and we’ve raised over £200 already.

“Some of the reactions have been incredible. I’m a car mechanic in my normal job and a football coach so this is keeping me busy.

“We’ve had a fantastic reaction.”

The Leader:

Posters have been put up in windows across Wrexham and children are being encouraged to wave through their windows or on their doorsteps.

Ian added: “Spiderman is DBS checked and will keep social distancing to a two-metre rule.

“We did Ruabon on Sunday and they were all out there watching, it was brilliant. On Friday we went to a care home and waved to residents and key workers.

“The times we are living in at the moment with the lockdown, children can’t get out and this just brings a smile to their faces.

“Everyone is loving it, young and old, it has been brilliant.”
