MEMBERS of a gymnastics group have given a heartfelt thank you to those on the frontline fight against coronavirus.

Deeside Gymnastics Academy have created a video that thanks key workers for the work they are doing amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

In just a few short works, the UK has come together to show their appreciation for key workers, from lighting buildings blue for NHS staff and a national round of applause.

But members of the gymnastics group decided to do their own personal message for those risking their own health and well-being.

The club has been forced to close due to the recent lockdown rules and the Deeside Leisure Centre is turning into a temporary hospital.

As a result, the future of the club remains uncertain and so a fundraiser has been set up.

The Leader:

A spokesman said: "This is a plea from the parents of some children that attend this fantastic gymnastics club in an attempt to help the coaches to save the club in any way we can.

"Deeside Gymnastics Academy is a not for profit making organisation that provides safe, professional and fun activities for hundreds of local children. The club caters for children across the full range of skills, from complete beginners to national level gymnasts.

"The recent pandemic has resulted in closure of all leisure facilities, preventing the gymnasts from training for the foreseeable future. As the club is not for profit, it relies on the ongoing payment of gymnasts as they train.

"The future of the club is now under real threat and urgent funding is required to cover the lease of the facilities, HMRC tax bills and other ongoing costs.

"I realise that these times are hard and uncertain for the whole country, but if you could spare any amount, no matter how small, it could secure the future of this vital club for the local children now and in the future."
