A HOLYWELL woman is helping to look after the healing hands at the community hospital after people are generously sponsoring the products she sells during the coronavirus outbreak.

Allison Hillier-Jones, who sells Avon products in the Holywell area, decided to do something for her community hospital after hearing that nurses and doctors are being left with sore hands due to the additional washing and sanitising to stop the spread of COVID-19.

She wanted to support the staff at Holywell Community Hospital by having people sponsor a hand cream or handwash product which would then be donated to the frontline staff based in the Halkyn Road hospital.

She said: “I had seen a post on my Avon uplines page saying she was looking for sponsors from people to sponsor either a hand lotion for £2 or a hand wash for £1 and items would be donated to NHS staff.

“I decided that this was something I would like to for our local hospital as they have helped my family out over the years and I felt it was the right thing to do.”

Alison added that she makes no commission on these items as Avon reps doing this across the nation are all putting extra funds back into buying more hand care products, meaning for every four items sponsored, Allison will buy the fifth.

She added: “The response so far has been fantastic, people have been so kind. We already have over £150 worth raised which is far more than I anticipated.

“A huge heartfelt thank you to all the staff for all they do. The comments people are leaving when they donate are lovely.”

If people are in a position to help, and feel this is something they wish to do, then Allison has set up a PayPal pool account for the money to go into – https://paypal.me/pools/c/8nUiSjN35K or contact her for more information on 07941 048589.
