A WIG and hair loss specialist has set up a shop at her home for clients that are facing hair loss problems.

Rebecca Morgan-Brennan, who runs award-winning Morgan's Hair, Beauty and Wig Specialist salon in Prestatyn, hasn't let the current lockdown measures stop her from helping her clients.

The hairdresser and NHS wig supplier has set up a shop in her downstairs bedroom and is carrying out wig consultations over video calling.

Rebecca said: "At this difficult time I know so many people who wear wigs who are starting chemotherapy, radiotherapy and those who wear hair systems will be panicking because they can't see their hair loss specialist.

"I had a number of hospitals ring me so I brought some stock of my wigs and bandanas home and have created a wig salon in the downstairs bedroom.

"We have a lot of different headwear on show and after care kits. We have had a lot of different ladies, who have different hair systems fitted, and they are worried, but there is a lot of hope.

"We are doing everything by video and have been promoting the service by social media.

"Although our doors have closed, we are thinking about our clients."

Earlier this month, Morgan's Hair, Beauty and Wig Specialist salon won big at the FSB (Federation of Small Business) Celebrating Small Business Awards; They were crowned the winner of the Wales Social Enterprise and Community Award of the Year.

The ceremony took place as the Exchange Hotel in Cardiff.

Rebecca, whose salon was named a finalist in this year’s Welsh Hair and Beauty Awards, said: "There were strong contenders in the category from all over Wales. I am so unbelievably proud to win. I won out of the whole of Wales.

"It has really taken a long time to get to this point. People are seeing the work we are doing. It is our eighth year."

"We went on the stage and when we came off people said 'that was the best speech of the day'. I spoke about my vision.

"I was gobsmacked to win."

Rebecca is urging clients staying at home to not take their hair into their own matters while the salon is closed.

She added: "I want people to come to me for advice rather than try and do their own thing, otherwise we are going to be doing colour correcting and dodgy cuts.

"Just contact us and ask for advice. We don’t want people panicking"

Rebecca is paying all her staff 100 per cent for the next two weeks, before going on to the Government scheme where they will have 80 per cent of their wage covered.

"The worst thing is not having the social aspect so we are having a video chat every night. We miss each other," Rebecca said.

"It is an awful time but as much as it is an awful time, it will make kids be kids again and not sitting down on the computer.

"It will give also give people a chance to learn new things, how to cook etc, and to slow down."
