ONE of Oswestry’s most popular annual events has been cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Oswestry Show, which was set to take place on Saturday, August 1, has been cancelled by the Oswestry & District Agricultural Society after adhering to recent government and Public Health guidance.
The event will now next take place on Saturday, August 7, 2021.
A statement posted on the show’s website read: “It is with huge sadness that due to the deteriorating situation surrounding Coronavirus (COVID-19) and after taking careful account of the latest government and Public Health guidance, Oswestry & District Agricultural Society has taken the decision to cancel Oswestry Show 2020.
“Oswestry Show prides itself on supporting our communities and we understand the effect of this decision, which is made with a heavy heart.
“While this news is disappointing for everyone, we are sure that you would agree that the health, safety and wellbeing of our members, visitors, exhibitors and staff is of paramount importance.”
