VOTING for this year's Airbus and Leader Community Awards has been suspended.
Over the last two weeks, the Leader has revealed the 10 shortlisted projects for this year's awards event.
But given the evolving situation with coronavirus across the UK and further afield, it has been decided that the scheme is to be put on hold temporarily.
A spokesman for the event said: "In light of the current COVID-19 situation, Airbus and the Leader have decided to suspend the public voting for this year's Airbus Community Awards until further notice.
"We regret having to take this action but we find ourselves in unprecedented times.
"We look forward to continuing with the voting as soon as we possibly can. Further announcements will be made in the Leader in due course."
The shortlisted projects are as follows:
- Erlas Victorian Walled Garden
- Parklands Community Primary School
- Wrexham Clothing Exchange
- HFT
- Ysgol Clywedog
- Eco-Action Task Force
- Lache Primary School
- The Countess Charity
- Neuro Therapy Centre
- Hawarden High School
- Friends of Northop Road Cemetery
There is £20,000 available, to be shared across each of the finalists: first prize - £7,000; second prize - £4,000; third prize - £2,000; seven runners up will each receive £1,000.
