BUS services are set to be reduced in frequency as a result of the lower numbers of people travelling.
Bus company Arriva confirmed the news in a statement that also included how the reduction would impact services in North Wales and Chester.
The latest information on Arriva’s webpage shows that locally the majority of services will operate on an hourly or half-hourly basis moving forward.
Axed services include the Chester to Blacon route, Wrexham Circular route, Caia Park route, Chester to Connah’s Quay, Chester to Saughall and the Denbigh to Llangwyfan route,
Sunday services for many bus routes will also be cut across the region.
An Arriva spokesman said: “In light of the government's ruling and the lower numbers of people travelling, we can confirm effective from Saturday, March 28, that we have had to reduce the frequency of some services.
“However, we will still be operating our key routes and have lifted the timing restrictions on concessionary passes to ensure customers can continue to access critical services and key workers are kept moving.
The spokesman confirms that the health and wellbeing of our customers and employees remains a ‘primary concern’ for Arriva.
They added: “We recommend that everyone follows the latest government advice to only travel when necessary for work, shopping for essentials, or medical appointments.
“We will continue to respond to government guidance and adapt our services accordingly.”
Arriva advises that passengers should check their particular service carefully before travelling as it is not the same for all areas or services.
