THE health board has expressed its sincere thanks to business and organisations offering their resources to assist during the coronavirus crisis.

One such offer is from North Wales-based Pario Leisure Group who has made its two holiday parks and more than 250 beds available to the Betsi Cadwalader University Health Board (BCUHB).

Pario Leisure, which includes Tan Rallt Holiday Home Park and Spa in Abergele and Marine Holiday Park in Rhyl, are just a short drive away from Glan Clwyd Hospital.

As the parks are forced to close to holiday guests and caravan owners in line with Government advice, in a bid to stop the spread of COVID-19 Coronavirus, park owner, Wyn Williams and his family, today (Monday, March 23) took the step to hand over both parks and all of their caravans free of charge to the Betsi Cadwalder Health Board and NHS staff.

Mr Williams said: “It is so important for us to all help each other at this time, to ensure spirits are kept high and the NHS staff feel cared about.

“We are all in this together and showing love for one another is of paramount importance – now more than ever! We all need to play our part.

“Both of our parks are just 10 minutes away from Glan Clwyd Hospital and while we follow Government guidelines and close our parks to the public, it seemed the obvious solution to myself, my family and all of my staff, to now offer these beds to our loyal NHS workers who are really feeling the strain.”

He added: “The health and wellbeing of all of our visitors and staff is paramount and our number one priority. Considering the rate at which COVID-19 is spreading we feel we owe it to all of our loyal customers and the community to take this action.

“It is the right thing to do in the war against coronavirus.”

The health board in North Wales has received lots of offers of support and resources and is currently assessing which it can make use of during these difficult times.

Simon Dean, Interim Chief Executive of BCUHB, said: “We have been inundated with very generous offers of help from partner organisations, businesses and members of the public. We would like to put on record our sincere thanks for their support.

“As part of our ongoing planning we are looking into the feasibility of taking up some of these very kind offers. We will be in touch with those who have offered support in due course.”
