MARKETS have gone ahead as usual, but Flintshire Council says the decision to cancel the weekly meets will be reviewed in line with Government advice surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.
The weekly market days in Mold, Holywell and Connah’s Quay all went ahead as usual last week.
A member Holywell market group, which recently had its relaunch, said the market would continue to go ahead as planned and that traders were in contact with the local council for updates should the situation change.
A spokesman for Flintshire County Council said: “The Council recognises the important role that markets play in the local economy and in providing goods and services to residents.
“The Council intends to keep the markets in Flintshire operational as long as possible but will act in response to evolving legislation and guidance from health authorities and Government.”
