STUDENTS will continue their education through online teaching methods should the coronavirus pandemic force a college to close.

Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, which has 12 campuses across North Wales including Abergele, Bangor, Caernarfon, Colwyn Bay Library, Denbigh, Dolgellau, Glynllifon, Holyhead, Llangefni, Parc Menai, Pwllheli, Rhos-on-Sea and Rhyl, is following government advice and taking action to prevent the spread of the infection at college and in communities.

A spokesperson from Grŵp Llandrillo Menai said: "All learners and staff who feel unwell with flu-like symptoms have been advised to self-isolate at home and follow NHS guidance.

"Overseas and UK trips have been cancelled or postponed until further notice.

"All of our campuses remain open and we are planning to continue education through online teaching using technology should we need to move to distance learning."

On Monday, March 16, Prime Minister Boris Johnson gave updated guidance.

"If you or anyone in your household has one of those two symptoms [high temperature or a new and continuous cough], then you should stay at home for 14 days," he said.
