A FLINTSHIRE post office is offering a food delivery service for elderly, vulnerable and other people self-isolating in the midst of the coronavirus crisis.

Broughton Post Office is running the food courier service for local residents - which will see it take food orders and deliver the order to your doorstep.

It comes as more and more people, particuarly the elderly at the highest risk, self-isolate amid concerns over the virus - which has seen six people in North Wales confirmed with having contracted it

The post office has announced the scheme on its Facebook page and wants people to spread the news to as many people as possible.

Simply call Broughton Post Office on 01244 531246 before 2pm each day to place the order and its staff will deliver it between 2pm and 5pm the same day.

A statement on its Facebook page said: "If you are self isolating please inform us over the phone as we will need to put extras in place to complete your delivery.

"We know a lot of the elderly won't be on Facebook, however please spread this, word of mouth will be the best form of communication.

"Tell your neighbours and friends. I hope we can pull together through what's going to be a very tough for us all."
