Mary Poppins, Fantastic Mr Fox and several Harry Potter characters dropped into Gwernymynydd Primary School to celebrate World Book Day.
Pupils came to school dressed as their favourite literary characters and were given plenty of time to read and share their books.
Deputy head teacher Daffyd Johnson says it’s always a day children enjoy and look forward to.
He said: “We encourage our pupils to read and enjoy stories and dressing up as their favourite characters adds a sense of fun to their learning.
“We want pupils to get in the habit of reading whether at home or at school and it’s been good to see children excited about books and reading.”
