STAFF of a Wrexham business helped a school to renovate its outdoor learning area.

Employees of Brother Limited, in Ruabon, were on hand at Ysgol Estyn in Hope on Friday to help Year 6 pupils and staff create new pathways around forest school and its pond.

The plastic moulding company sent staff members to help create a bark chippings path around the school pond and fire circle.

The path is much needed as areas around the pond have become treacherous due to the recent heavy rain, and pupils even gave up their break time to help.

Anna Andrewes, Ysgol Estyn forest school officer, said: "We've got some workers from Brother who've come along, volunteering their time.

"It's a big job to keep on top of everything on site here, so having a lot of man power to help out is amazing.

"So today they've cleared a path around the pond and laid a really nice path around it, which means we can get in there more, the children can get access to the pond a little bit better, and we can observe the wildlife from around the pond, which is fantastic."

A spokesman for Brother Ltd said: "It is brilliant to be able to support a local school, being a community which is connected with the locality is hugely importance to us.

"It's fantastic to see pupils of the school being so enthusiastic about improving their forest school and the least we could is pop down and lend a helping hand."
