A PORTION of the A55 close to Chester has been closed due to a broken down lorry that has shed diesel across the carriageway.
Police have closed the A55 in the eastbound direction between Junction 39 (Great Boughton) and Junction 40 (Vicars Cross).
The Cheshire Fire Service and North West Motorway Police Group are at the scene.
The road is expected to remain closed for several hours whilst the oil spill is treated, but traffic diversions are in place once vehicles exit the A55 at Junction 39.
